Ministry
Report, Easter Season 2010 |

Dear Prayer Partners, The Church is growing…one by one. I’ve seen it these past 3 Sundays. April 18: Diane and I gave a missions report in one of our supporting churches. A Chinese student was baptized in that same service. She had come to the US for university studies. She also discovered the Christian faith while here. A couple in that church reached out to share and to nurture that faith. This student will complete her studies in a few weeks and return to China. Pray that God will help her be a witness in her own land. Did you know that 80% of the foreign students that come to the US for university studies never once get to eat a meal in an American home during their stay in our country? I’m glad someone took the initiative to invite this new Chinese believer. April 25: I was in little Christus Church in Germany. There, a lady who grew up behind the Iron Curtain with no knowledge of the Gospel confessed her new-found faith in our Savoir and was baptized. (Pictured below is the missionary team that met in Germany.) May 2: I had the privilege of preaching again in the French Church where we served from 1987 to 1994. During our time there, I had baptized a lady whose father was Muslim and mother Buddhist. Both parents graciously attended the church service that day, but showed no personal interest in Christianity at the time. Last Sunday, I found my baptized friend active in leading the church choir. But even better, I learned that her Vietnamese mother has also come to the Faith and was baptized earlier this year. We recently heard Edmund A., a missionary bishop of an Anglican Church in Africa, speak at a conference. He serves in the north of his country where there has been severe persecution of Christians. In spite of this situation, his congregations grow. He says that his church members have a slogan they call “Project 1.1.1.” This project expresses the goal that every “one” in the church seek to bring one new believer to Christ in one year. Do Christians have to face severe persecution before they live out that kind of commitment? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all adopt “Project 1.1.1”? The Church is growing one by one today. I’m challenged to do my part to keep moving forward. Will you join me?
