Dear friends,
"Give thanks
to the LORD, for he is good, his love endures
forever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say this –
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
those he gathered from the lands, from east and
west, from north and south.” Psalm 107/1-3
We ARE thankful,
for the many ways that we benefit from the out
flowing of the Lord’s love through his many
provisions. Here are some of those for which we
are thankful right now:
-
For the
provision of a French pastor to lead the
work at St Martin de Londres where we
ministered from 2003 until this summer. Getting this work ready for that step was
one of the goals we’ve been asking you to
pray for
-
For having
been able to complete several “tools” we had
been working on for the French Church before
we left France (Sunday School material,
theology brochures, Diane’s book…)
-
For the
chance to see all of our children and
grandchildren since arriving in the States
-
For travel
safety as we have visited 10 states in 10
weeks
-
For the
generosity and understanding of God’s people
in so many ways, big and small
-
For the
concern and help of Church and mission
leaders as we weigh our next step in
ministry
-
For
several overseas opportunities that are
already on our calendar for 2010
We appreciate your
continuing prayer support for:
-
Diane’s
trip to France and Zambia next January 25 to
February 16. She will do one week of
consulting with a church plant in the
western suburbs of Paris before flying to
Zambia with a French mission organization
for a week of meetings of Church leaders
from 7 countries in southern Africa and the
Indian Ocean.
-
Bill’s
trip to Germany the end of April to look at
possibilities of contributing to training
for church-planting programs in that
country.
-
Our
continuing transition to the cultural
changes of life in the US.
“Praise the
LORD, all you nations; extol him, all you
peoples. For great is his love toward us, and
the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.
Praise the LORD.” Psalm 117
As we reflect on
the roots of the US Thanksgiving this week, we
are attaching a PDF of an interesting
article
you might
appreciate on the first French settlers who
sought religious liberty in the New World.
We do wish you a
joyous Thanksgiving holiday.
