Christian Kindergarten Ministry

Why was a Christian Kindergarten started?

The Lord allowed me to be born in the country He wanted me to serve, preparing me all my life as an MK for His service. He was the one who opened my eyes to see that the German boys and girls have no opportunity to hear about God. Through my German education as a State approved Kindergarten teacher and with State approved facilities, we have total freedom to teach the Word of God. Throughout the years He has shown Himself as Lord of this Kindergarten to the Major, the city and the people in it. One can only marvel at the work of His hand!

Who is included for what time?

Yes, "Kindergarten" is a German word and includes children ages three through six. Having the privilege to help build their lives for three to four years, Monday through Friday from 8am to 12pm in their prime time, is a wonderful challenge.

What biblical emphases do we have?

We walk our children through the Bible in four years, taking them little steps at one time, giving them opportunity to put it into practice. This is their first opportunity to experience Him. A great way to realize God is alive today!

To give each child as many opportunities as possible, we use everyday items to underline biblical truths, which can work in their lives even years later. The children also craft a book a year, so they learn right away that God's Word is there to share with others. Its main thought is summarized in the back, so parents can read it or the children later in life.

What do we do academically?

We experience in one year: "What is a family and where do they live?" During the second year the children experience different occupations, going on field trips to see it first hand. The third or fourth year varies; either it is "animal life" or "pretend traveling to different countries." We believe through this playful learning, that they catch the view, that learning is fun and that doing your very best is enough, no matter how good or bad your neighbor is.

Work with the parents

We have parent teacher meetings, but also coffee hour in the afternoon, to reach and help the individual parent with their children. Of course our daily contact with them is very important as well.

Follow up ministry

The first Monday of the month, the former Kindergarten children come from four pm to six pm for our gathering. In this time, I listen to their needs and questions and put a program together that will help and challenge them, doing a little craft afterwards, so they have something to hold on to that month.

Training young people

We have always trained young people, but in the last few years God has been sending us students, who have heard of us and our teaching and want to learn it. They have been open to the Word of God. That is a change that thrills our hearts.
